[SYNOPSIS]

Working with the Forest of Avon, Alan, a local man, set on a journey to rewild a plot of land for nature and future generations to enjoy. The field opposite his house had been earmarked for development. Instead, with the help of Forest of Avon Trust and around 25 volunteers, it became hedgerow, wetland, and a community orchard.

[TRANSCRIPT]

"Everybody just wants to do a development. That field would've been developed eventually, and that would've been a waste.

I was born on a council estate and brought up on a council estate. I always thought there might be a catch somewhere along the line.

I was doing it to hopefully leave a legacy for my children and my grandchildren. I want my grandchild to know what their granddad did. It was just a field once upon a time."
